Maindrian Pace (H.B. Halicki) is an insurance investigator by day and a professional car thief by night. When a South American drug lord offers Pace $400,000 to steal 48 cars in five days, the assignment seems like an easy week's work for Pace and his gang -- until he's sold out. After he steals a car known as "Eleanor" in Long Beach, Calif., the police are suddenly on his tail. Pace ends up in a desperate car chase across Southern California, from Long Beach to Carson.

... perhaps the ultimate drive-in car chase movie. If that sounds like a backhanded compliment, then you don't know the sheer visceral thrill of a great tire squealing, chassis-slamming, speed demon piece of auto outlaw cinema.

Amateurish, badly acted and shot on the cheap (many sequences don't even have sync sound), this cult item features a 40-minute car chase (almost half the film's running time) that's nothing short of breathtaking.

I'm guessing this movie got its inspiration from Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen. It's an interesting story, albeit made in the 70's, so the acting and pacing isn't fabulous, and compared to the remake, it's a little underwhelming. BUT.... if you want to see one of the greatest half-hour car chases in movie history, you have to check it out. The car chase is unreal. Worth a look if you're nostalgic for the original versions of the Hollywood remakes.

Gone in 60 Seconds is a okay film. The first 50 minutes were kind of boring,but when the car chase began the movie turned around. Before the car chase the characters and the movie were really hard to understand. I can't say this movie is even interesting besides the end. Gone in 60 Seconds is an okay movie. I give this movie a 64%.
