When the wealthy and ambitious Charles Bishop Weyland funds an expedition to Antarctica, he hopes to find a mysterious source of heat that has been detected. Led by a tough guide, Alexa Woods, Weyland and his team uncover a pyramid, but they also find malevolent parasitic aliens. Making matters worse, another extraterrestrial species, known as Predators, arrive to hunt the other aliens, with the humans caught in the middle of the conflict.

Any aura of artistic quality that may have once surrounded the original films has well and truly vanished; director Paul W. S. Anderson follows the Roger Corman style: keep it fast, dark and full of gratuitous shocks.

The good aspects are you get to see the alien and preadator fight.You get to see the alien queen fight the preadator.I can not believe I almost cried during this. Bad aspects storyline is averge at best and lacks the gore and tone of the other movies in the alien or preadator franchise. Overall this movie is good to watch if you just want to see the alien and preadators fight and do not care about the storyline or if it matches the tone and gore of the rest of the alien or preadator

It's only worth watching to see the alien vs predator scenes. Nothing really happens in the first 50 minutes so you can skip that and watch the last 40 minutes.

Alien vs. Predator kept me at a distance during its first half because the human drama feels predictable and some of the writing is too obvious. Lance Henriksen’s presence also confused me because I expected a clearer connection to what I remembered from Alien 3. Once the creatures take over, however, the movie becomes much more enjoyable. The action has several genuinely great moments, the practical effects give the fights real physical weight, and the story finally gives the Predator mythology a clearer sense of ritual and purpose. I especially liked the idea of humans being trapped between two species operating by completely different rules. It is not as frightening as Alien or as entertaining as the original Predator, but as a monster crossover made with obvious affection for both franchises, it worked much better for me once the hunt actually began.
