Griffith J @griffithxjohnson 1d One of the most creatively unhinged screenplays I’ve seen as one strange choice snowballs into an unbelievable mess. There are definitely some cultural barriers that the western viewer will find odd yet this smartly leans into the outrageous side of Bollywood. Highly entertaining with its consistent twists & turns as it blends many genres into something wholly unique. Maybe a bit too many moving parts & chaotic layers for its own good, but that helps to give it a standout identity. Some thoughtful ideas on living with disabilities, seeking justified revenge, & winning the prizes for the games you choose to play. Make sure you’re strapped in because all of a sudden it accelerates and from then on the twists and turns are non-stop. Includes what may be the most perfectly set up vignette ever (sooo tempting to spoil, but no). Tabu is, as always, relentlessly, unforgivably sexy and is an incredible villain (make sure to see her in “Drishyam,” too). A little frayed in the middle but, overall wonderfully plotted and crafted. The ending?
