Betsy P Nov 10 Think Bonnie and Clyde on a beautiful island. No Tommy guns but plenty of romantic couple angst. Both troubled, pretty with sketchy pasts, these two tumble thru new love to outright craziness. Worth the wild ride. Ending? You just wait….. See more O g Mar 18 Beast is mostly pleasing on the eye although the cinematography feels like it's trying a little too hard at times. Well-acted (Buckley is captivating, Flynn thinly veiled menace) and there is undoubtedly a nice note of suspense. The plot is ambiguous and open and most of the questions are left unresolved yet not in an unsatisfying way. However, it rang a little hollow and uneven, even contrived, and by the end it tails off to the point where it all feels a bit overwrought ITV drama. See more Alain E @AlainE Feb 10 This is not a movie to warm your heart, so I understand the negative reactions. An alternate title could be, two psychopath in love. One of the two in the end decides to administer justice but I am not convinced she is cured. When she was earlier pummeling the rabbit she didn’t exactly show mature and controlled behavior. The choice of actors without absolute beauty was wise. Nice cinematography. Not a date movie, unless you met your sweetie in jail. I won't be watching this movie again. The story itself sounded interesting; but most of the action takes place inside the ain character's head. The surprise at the end is just more of the same, as the movie limps to it's conclusion. See more Vander A 09/04/2024 Jessie Buckley is a pretty incredible talent but even the best of actors can't overcome bad storytelling whether writing or directing and this is that case. Can't believe the 92% here. It's just not so. They must have watched a different movie. Staying with the movie hoping it will get better doesn't work. I'm really sorry I stayed till the end.
