Uxbal, a career criminal, plies his trade in Barcelona's underground sweatshops and back alleys. Grim, dirty, and chaotic. It is hard to imagine how we rated it 4 stars when we first saw it in 2022. This time it felt oppressive and unpleasant from the start, and after 30 minutes we had no desire to stay with it.

A remarkable film with English subtitles. Javier Berdem's performance is extraordinary. It is difficult subject matter, but If you have lived & loved, If you have lived through loss & regret, if you have had a hard life, you will relate. You will probably cry. In the end, what is really important is family and the children and doing the right thing. I love you Amanda.
