Bruce Nolan's career in TV has been stalled for a while, and when he's passed over for a coveted anchorman position, he loses it, complaining that God is treating him poorly. Soon after, God actually contacts Bruce and offers him all of his powers if he thinks he can do a better job. Bruce accepts and goes on a spree, using his new-found abilities for selfish, personal use until he realizes that the prayers of the world are going unanswered.

As entertainment, it gives good value: it's light, quick and diverting. Morgan Freeman, predictably, gives it heart, gravitas and the appearance of wisdom; but it's Carrey who keeps all the balls in the air with refined mania.

Great story and well directed by Tom Shadyac. Good cinematography and visually appealing. Stellar cast all excels in character. Funny haha at times and funny peculiar at others. As entertainment, it gives good value: it's light, quick and diverting. Jim Carrey brings his usual energy and Morgan Freeman rock solid in character. Lack of depth ruins it a little

We had no internet connection while traveling, but had this dvd to watch. Desperate times, so to speak. It would be a great kids movie, but didn’t do much for us.

Like all Jim Carrey movies, you get a little hint of everything. But this one definitely felt a bit more "calming" for Carry, but not by a lot lol. I still had fun watching!
