Burn is a 97-minute-long film released in 2021 which I viewed on Prime in March, 2026. The film is set in one place and focusses on a handful of characters in a suspenseful yet quirky or weird story. Burn kept me interested enough to keep me of my phone for most of its runtime. I really liked the lead actor as a character and an actor. The character, Melinda, was easy to get into. Would I be her friend? Hell no. The other actors / characters do well. Sheila was fun. The suspense is light, the accompanying music indicating suspense also light. This could easily be a play in a theatre: the set and story are that simple. Engaging. There is violence, and sexual assault, in this film. The film ends without answering a key question through a character’s mouth however the film has taught you the answer (no spoilers). Rewatch? Normally with suspense films, they are one watch for me however this one was so quirky and engaging, I could rewatch. Recommend? Yes.
