"Edmond" is beyond black comedy, it's a comedy in almost total stygian darkness. A comedy where the laughs make you cough up razor blades.

How is there so much talent on and off the screen and this movie be so so very very terrible and unwatchable? I think this movie is trying to send some kind of message but it’s so bad I don’t really care to decipher what it is.

If "American Psycho" was grounded in reality, "Edmond" would be the result. It was a descent film even though it drags in places. There is a message in the movie about the meaning of life even though I don't 100% understand what it is, but I think that was by design and it's supposed to leave you feeling that way.

the sell of edmond is its nihilistic commitment to the cynical relationship the protagonist embodies between himself and the world around one, possessively entitled to the women and the non-white characters he interacts with. the praise you can give it is the rumination on the manic relationship people with general privilege have with those who don't - it's cruel in places and the discomfort comes from WHM's character stepping on the scenery, expecting a world he understood. in certain respects it is a question of what does a worker bee do when he realises he is a worker bee- instead of dismantling the system, he eats those around him.

What an awful movie. All this movie is a guy played by William H. Macy walking around New York City trying to get laid with women, and ends up getting into arguments with everyone he interacts with. And at the end he ends up in prison for killing a couple of people. Really hate this movie. This movie doesn't even have any reason to exist. Completely unwatchable.
