Victor M @VictorMatic 2d Filme visualmente belíssimo, com uma narrativa relativamente fiel aos fatos reais e capaz de manter a curiosidade do espectador do início ao fim. Mesmo conhecendo a história, é impossível não querer descobrir mais detalhes dessa jornada impressionante. Ryan Gosling entrega uma atuação excelente e coerente com o verdadeiro Neil Armstrong, marcada por poucas expressões faciais e uma postura contida, o que reforça o caráter introspectivo do personagem. A trilha sonora é muito bem construída e o roteiro funciona de forma consistente. No entanto, senti falta de uma exploração emocional mais profunda de alguns acontecimentos que claramente abalaram Neil. Em diversos momentos, o filme parece "pular" rapidamente de um evento emocional para outro, sem dar tempo para que o impacto seja plenamente sentido. A exceção é Ed White, cuja morte recebe mais tempo de tela e gera maior carga emocional. Ainda que o foco seja Neil, esses saltos emocionais acabam enfraquecendo um pouco o drama do filme. All the fear & unknown anticipation is felt as you are placed in the rocket along side Armstrong. The score, sound editing, & cinematography shows everything in its isolated reality. Gosling’s subdued performance speaks volumes through his quiet journey through stress & grief in emotional ways. Yet it’s a one trick pony with a single tone that can be a bit stagnant & slow. You make a movie with a personal focus when the subject matter isn’t high concept. You don’t take the most important achievement of humanity and strip away all the important elements that made it happen to focus on one person’s sad struggle. I’m pissed that another Apollo 11 will probably not be made in my lifetime because this boring piece of crap was made instead. The film feels depressing. It tries to paint Neil as a family man, but knowing he was emotionally distant, divorced, and remarried quickly, that angle rings hollow and even despicable. Using his daughter’s death for forced emotional weight only made me dislike him more. That’s no excuse to be “emotionally distant” from your wife for two decades.
