Taapsee Pannu brings a strong presence to the role of Bani. There's anger, desperation, and a mother's unwavering determination that makes her character easy to root for. The film also attempts to tackle human trafficking and the failures of the justice system, giving the story more weight than just another revenge-driven action movie. Unfortunately, Gandhari often feels too preoccupied with trying to appear serious and important. Some of the dramatic moments feel forced, while the mystery doesn't always build the tension you'd expect. The ideas are compelling, but the execution lacks consistency. The story centers around child trafficking and a mother determined to find her daughter, fighting her way through an increasingly dangerous situation alongside her husband. What really caught me off guard was the deeply sinister twist toward the end. It was something I genuinely did not expect and gave the story a much darker impact. Unfortunately, the biggest problem for me was the English dubbing. The voices were so poorly matched to the tone of the story that they sometimes made the movie feel like a comedy. That is a major issue because the actual story and screenplay are serious, emotional, and heartbreaking, yet the dubbing constantly took me out of the experience. I honestly think I would have connected with this movie much more if I had watched it in its original language. The story itself has enough depth to pull you in, but the English voice performances made it difficult to take the film seriously.
