If only "Hall Pass" were a TV pilot that kept the pace of Rick and Fred’s first two days of freedom; running eight minutes, there would only be 20 left of what would likely be the only episode to air. You will not provide your own laugh track.

This movie is kind of stupid all around. It’s got a couple of laughable moments, but other than that, it’s one of those movies where the directors think throwing in a naked man or woman will make it better. It’s also just a really misogynistic film that talks about women in such a vulgar way that it makes you wonder what they were thinking when they wrote this.

Hall Pass is a midlife crisis with a hall pass, a bad haircut, and absolutely no survival instincts. Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis stumble through their newfound freedom like two teenagers who just discovered adulthood has consequences. Crude, ridiculous, and surprisingly tender, it’s a comedy about wanting what you don’t have, and discovering that what you already have might be the whole damn point.

It’s a decent movie. There was some funny dialogue through the runtime. It is a taboo subject and can start some interesting debates. Character development was pretty generic and overall a decent watch on a casual weekend.
