Nearly two decades after being committed to a mental institution for killing his stepfather and older sister, Michael Myers breaks out, intent on returning to the town of Haddonfield, Ill. He arrives in his hometown on Halloween with the indomitable purpose of hunting down his younger sister, Laurie. The only thing standing between Michael and a Halloween night of bloody carnage is psychologist Dr. Samuel Loomis.

Honestly all things considered this film was not the worst. My god did it have problems. But makes logical sense in a way. That he is a byproduct of his environment vs just being born evil. Though he certainly has that within his character for sure. I like the original concept more and it's a better film but for a fun little alternative history narrative to the main cannon films it does enough to pass by in my book. It doesn't rank high nor does it ever come up when I'm talking about the greatest of all time movies. It's faithful enough to the IP that it doesn't make it unbearable. The acting is pretty bad mostly and how the characters act is also pretty poorly thought up, but it's Rob Zombie after all. The blood and gore is good. Overall not terrible. I would recommend the older movies or even the trilogy later on before this. I'd say if you have nothing else to watch then this film is good enough to kill some time.

I really enjoyed Rob Zombie’s Halloween, especially because of the story and this version of Michael Myers, who feels brutal, disturbing and much more human compared to other movies in the franchise. The movie flows smoothly without ever becoming boring and keeps a dark, uncomfortable atmosphere throughout. Rob Zombie manages to give the remake its own identity while still keeping the spirit of Halloween alive.
