Hungry is a 'wild animal on the loose' horror movie that wants to be different because the killer creature is a hippo. However, the story isn't interesting enough and gets stuck in quagmires of clichés. The movie also tries and fails to have campy comedy.

What to say…don’t bother, other than the hippo the cast don’t hold you & storyline is predictable, dull despite trying to be novice & clever. And the cast, a lot of overacting going on by the dark haired actress who played Hannah, got eliminated early on (thank goodness, couldn’t have watched her through the entire movie, just OTT with the acting)

I liked the premise - finally, a different killer beast instead of a gator or shark. It’s not groundbreaking but there are many worse ways to spend 90-ish minutes on a Sunday.

A favourite studio recycled swamp horror flick, which does provide some entertaining thrills when the characters, except one, are not terribly annoying, such as in this case.
