Even though this is a (mostly) true story, the forced ironies of having infamous teen mass-murderers interact with the heroine feels more than a little exploitative.

I'm sure in reality Rachel Joy Scott was a nice person with good intentions and a fine heart. I just wish we could hear her story without an agenda attached to it.

Must see! Amazing true story where most of the dialogue between the lead characters Rachel and Nathan were their actual words written to each other in a shared journal. Rachel’s faith and love will change you forever in a wonderful way brilliant acting by Masey McClain and Ben Davies

I'm not a movie critic or anything, but I connected with the main character "Rachel" I thought her character devolpement was good and it made me emotional. I think if it wasn't based on a real event the ratings would be higher, but overall I enjoyed this movie. I'm actually surprised the ratings are so low. Maybe it's because of political or "pandering" or religious things that I personally didn't care about as someone who just watches movies. Overall I recommend it if you just want something that makes you smile, and makes you shed a tear or 100.
