If you approach 'Last Train to Fortune' as a one-man show for Malcolm McDowell, its ninety minutes will pass fairly agreeably. But overall, it’s a pretty thin fable about an unlikely friendship in the Old West.

As good as everyone involved is, the movie belongs to McDowell. Flustered and flummoxed, McDowell takes full command of what’s essentially his first comedic role, and he does so with the biggest of hearts.

I loved it and the story in general. The character development and the relationships were done very well. It flowed and kept my interest the whole time. There were also some truly stunning shots. Overall, I would recommend it.

Last Train to Fortune has what a lot of films are missing these days. It has heart. Malcolm McDowell is as engaging and charming as you would expect as the bumbling British school teacher. Your surprise will be in the depth and growth of James Paxton's character, the outlaw with a conscience. Go see it.

Last Train to Fortune was a masterclass by Malcolm McDowell in how facial expression, subtlety, and nuance can captivate an audience. I was moved by the film’s themes and found myself hungry for more when the final credits appeared. "Nice job" to the entire supporting cast, especially the younger actors. Working alongside legends like Malcolm McDowell and Bernadette Peters must have been an incredible experience. Congratulations to the producers and director for creating an impactful journey through your film.
