Evolving from single-celled yellow organisms at the dawn of time, Minions live to serve, but find themselves working for a continual series of unsuccessful masters, from T. Rex to Napoleon. Without a master to grovel for, the Minions fall into a deep depression. But one minion, Kevin, has a plan; accompanied by his pals Stuart and Bob, Kevin sets forth to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. I got tired of this joke before the movie ended, but I appreciate the gusto with which the filmmakers -- particularly Coffin, with his nimble vocalizations -- carried it out.

Minions may not have the purposeful plotting of a Pixar film or the wondrous world-building of a work from Walt Disney Animation, but its hyperactive sense of humor and absurdist antics are admittedly amusing nevertheless.

The youngster target audience will probably love every minute of “Minions”. I was with them to a point, but once the story abandoned the quest to find a master it bogged down and the humor grew inconsistent.

Parts of this movie seemed to drag on, and at times the storyline was a bit boring... however, there were still many laughable moments. Entertainment for entertainment's sake, right? Just try not to put too much thought into things and it's enjoyable :)

I have this thing that I do when it comes to these movies. If it is the first, second, or third of a main franchise, maybe I can be more forgiving, as it is finding its footing. This is the first of a spin-off that didn't need to exist in the first place. We've already suffered when they were around in the main franchise, but when you give them a spin-off, it's just them speaking gibberish while meeting people speaking English. That is just one flaw. Another is when the film introduces characters that should not be in the film at all. One moment, we see a humanoid fish, the next, we see the Queen of England, then a sumo wrestler; it's like they can't make up their minds about who to keep for only a few seconds. It's like, "Jesus Christ!" What I hate the most is that characters I like don't get enough screentime. I wanted to see more of that family of criminals, but they've only made a few appearances, and they've never been seen ever again. All I can say is Minions is a fucking mess...
