Blake- N @PBSAniDom Apr 18 Miss Sloane (2016) is a solid, well-made political drama, but not quite the "game-changer" it sometimes gets hyped up to be. It’s more of a standard good film than anything truly exceptional or groundbreaking. Jessica Chastain carries the movie with a strong, controlled performance as a ruthless lobbyist, and she definitely keeps things engaging even when the script gets a bit heavy on fast-talking exposition. The courtroom framing device adds some tension, but a lot of the story feels familiar if you’ve seen other Washington political thrillers. The film is well-directed and polished, with sharp dialogue and a decent pace, but it doesn’t take many risks beyond its central character. Some twists land well, others feel predictable. Overall, it’s an entertaining and competent political drama that holds attention, just not something that feels especially unique or unforgettable. A solid 7/10. Worth a watch for newbies but is kinda forgettable compared to other better political thrillers.
