See more Bret M. @BretM-3 Mar 12 Mission: Impossible 2 is a great follow-up to the first, despite being a bit of a downgrade. Firstly, the action in this movie was absolutely incredible. The action throughout was great, but in particular the final fight at the end of the film had me on the edge of my seat. The choreographer of that fight needs a raise because it was awesome. My eyes were glued to the TV. The acting was very good in this one, just like the first. Obviously Tom Cruise is the standout but I think everybody did a great job. My least favorite part was the plot. When compared to the immersive, intense, and complex plot of the first, this film seems a lot simpler and not as cool as the first. But I believe that what this movie loses in plot, it gains in action. If you enjoyed the first Mission: Impossible movie, you'll probably enjoy this one too. Definitely worth the watch. See more Ray C @RT17651982 Mar 10 Mission Impossible II isn’t nearly the disaster people make it out to be, but it’s still the weakest in the franchise. It’s also by far the most unique. That’s a compliment, but also a criticism—mostly a criticism. This movie is so cheesy. The melodramatic romance between Ethan and Nyah feels really out of place compared to the other movies, and it’s pretty weak. It also doesn’t help that Nyah is never mentioned again after this one. The constant slow motion doesn’t do the movie any favors. When it works it’s cool, but when it happens every five minutes it quickly loses its effect. That said, the first 10 and last 20 minutes are great. The rock climbing scene is iconic, and the motorcycle chase/beach fight finale is honestly one of my favorite moments in the franchise. Dougray Scott’s Sean Ambrose is a solid villain—too over the top at times, but still enjoyable. Overall, it’s the weakest entry, but still a fun action movie watch.
