Screenwriter Chad St. John and director Potsy Ponciroli’s very good revenge flick tells its story through the acting of its excellent cast – Shailene Woodley, Ben Foster, and Pablo Schneider – its extensive soundtrack (score), and a few words.

This still ultimately feels like a stylistic exercise that hasn’t proven its worth for a full-length feature. With all of that said, director Potsy Ponciroli certainly delivers on the fun of having Ritchson plow his way through bad guys.

If you're a fan of Alan Ritchson, he's definitely the reason to watch Motor City. He delivers another solid performance and helps carry a movie that has an interesting idea but doesn't fully come together. The nearly dialogue-free style is different, but it often feels unnatural and slows the movie down. The revenge story is simple and easy to follow, with a few enjoyable fight scenes and a gritty atmosphere, but the supporting characters don't get enough development to leave much of an impression. It's worth watching if you're curious about the concept or enjoy revenge thrillers, but don't expect anything groundbreaking.

What a wonderfully unique way to tell a story. If you haven’t yet, don’t watch the preview, it gives away one of the best parts, besides that, it was a refreshingly new take that I didn’t even know I was craving!

This was such a unique movie. Woodley was brilliant in her role. I’ve never been to a movie with so little dialogue but the music score was spot on. I’m so glad that I read the reviews so I knew what to expect. I really loved the movie.

Movie was ok, nothing special. Was kind of a generic plot, easy to guess what would happen next. The no dialogue felt gimmicky after a while though. I only saw it because I have AMC A-List. Otherwise might be better to wait for streaming. Had a couple good fight scenes and some decent action. Would have been better had they cut the runtime to 90 minutes as it took a while to get going.
