This movie does a lot of things really well, starting with a memorable performance from Sonam Kapoor. I thought her character was instantly likable and one I could easily empathize with. When the main plot of the movie kicks in, this movie is very tension-filled. I do feel the movie does use flashbacks in a way that sometimes brings the movie to a slight halt, but it doesn't take away from the experience. This is a thrill ride that leads to a very emotionally powerful finale. This isn't always an easy movie to watch, but its an important reminder that the smallest acts of courage and bravery can have an enormous impact. See more 03/15/2020 The biggest strength of Ram Madhvani's "Neerja" is that a grim subject like terrorism is treated with subjectiveness and much-needed touch of lightness. But the greater achievement is that the film gives us a gripping actress to root for, who was there consistently from nine years, but it is only now that she gets a fly realized character: Sonam Kapoor delivers the best performance of t he year, and her most refreshing character as Neerja Bhanot. Those who are confused between patriotism and politics: this is a refined, light but important biographical film which tells us the true ideology of nationalism. This is an unsentimental, emotional film we were searching for through the year. And we are delivered the same. See more 01/26/2020 My dad was on this flight back when the actual hijacking happened.
