Oscar E. @oscarpac Jan 19 I… don’t get it. Was he abused by his uncle? Did his uncle kill his parents? Like there was a lot of potential for the movie with a creature like the possum but got caught up in trying to set creepy atmosphere which was a positive if this movie, along with the acting. The story was lost about halfway through. There’s a lot of plot holes. I wasn’t scared or worried for any of the characters. It’s a skip for me. I was so bored I was begging for someone to die. This is an exercise in creepiness for creepiness’ sake, story be damned, mostly from the score. Harris’ downturned face is the scariest thing in it. Go watch The Shining or The Thing instead if you want isolation horror. See more Jo P @JoParkerBear Oct 19 Absolutely not for everyone. It’s abstract in style and the vibe is extremely unsettling. The entire film is uncomfortable, slowly building up tension until it’s almost unbearable. While disturbing, it holds a lot of truth and deeper meaning. It has valuable things to say. It’s a horror film through and through, but more to do with very real horrors one may find in the world and within ourselves, less to do with jump scares. Unfortunately, the movie was too caught up in trying to be abstract and artsy that it kind of lost the story. You can piece together what happened for the most part, but large parts of the story are never really wrapped up. The sexual abuse plot was suddenly thrust (no pun intended) into the story at the very end instead of subtly hinted at through the film which was jarring. The story telling was heavily lacking.
