By focusing on the miner strike storyline - which was a huge national story when it happened - the film creates a more authentic environment in which to tell those other stories of the lesbian and gay diaspora.

There have been more powerful portrayals of LGBTQ+ history in the years since (its release), and an absence of significant Transgender characters is telling. However, Pride remains a touching and clever reminder of the fighters that change the world

What are the best LGBTQ related movies that I can think of. It has a strong message, it’s easily watchable, it’s cute and funny in places, and it’s sad and others. You really get involved in the story and you really get involved and feel for some of the characters in the movie. There’s just not much to dislike about this movie at all.

I love this film. The ending is so moving, and it's very well-written - inspiring, funny, sad and moving. The cast do brilliantly too, from Dominic West dancing up a storm to Paddy Considine's brilliant performance, Bill Nighy making a quiet revelation while buttering the bread with Imelda Staunton, or Jessica Gunning taking on the bigots. Cracking.

I can only bring positive points to this film. The script is very good, the direction is something cinematic and the plot that the movie brings simply hooks you from beginning to end. Another story of the LGBTQIAP+ community being portrayed in an incredible way.
