Ben W @Username618 5d I thought at the time, that the person getting their name wrong and crossing it out joke was taken from Big Lebowski and using light brushing technique, only to determine the man had been doodling. This was ok. The idea of Julie Andrews having an affair with her butler... strikes one as a bit like going out with a hoover! But the whole thing's absurd. Anne Hathaway is charming and believable in the lead role, and Julie Andrews brings the perfect amount of warmth and elegance to make the royal side of the story work. The movie has a lot of heart, a fun makeover premise, and a few genuinely memorable moments that make it feel light and watchable. That said, the story is pretty predictable and a bit formulaic, and some parts feel very safe compared to what it could have been. It is more sweet and pleasant than truly original. Still, it does its job well and has enough charm to keep it entertaining. Overall, The Princess Diaries is a solid, decent princess movie. I would rate it a 6/10. See more Anais F @Shrek616 Apr 15 The princess diaries is a very enjoyable and surprisingly funny movie directed by Marshall it’s a comedy released in 2001. Starring Hathaway as Mia and Andrew as Clarisse. The movie offers a mix of humor, romance and self discovery. Firstly, the story follows Mia, an introvert and shy teenager living in San Franscico with her mother. One day, she discovers that she is going to become a princess of a small european country called Genovia. With the guidance of her strict but caring grandmother, mia is going to learn how to be a princess. Secondly, the acting is very impressive. Hathaway is going to make you feel deeply connected to her because when she plays Mia, she does an impressevly excellent representation of her awkwardness and growth. Besides, Andrews is absolutly elegant and feminine as a queen. Furthermore, the film is going to teach you an important lessons about identity and confidence during teenage years.
