Purgatory Jack is a neo-noir mystery thriller set in the afterlife, a dangerous landscape that's run by a bloodthirsty, limb-collecting gang and populated with outlaws and outcasts. Claudio C @Claudio666 Jul 16 Should Have Humor (12,570-16 Jul 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) When the singer Viv Vacious (Alexandra Beaton) commits suicide, she goes to purgatory while the paramedics try to resurrect her. She finds a place full of outlaws commanded by Flo (Emily Alatalo) and her partner Plater (Joel Thomas Hynes), who sells body parts and blood of the newcomers for drug addicts. However, she is protected by the private detective Jack Marlin (Tim Rozon) and she learns that her mother lives in the purgatory. Jack helps her to find her mother Gloria (Lora Burke), who committed suicide too. Along the investigation, Viv learns that Jack, his lover Flo and Gloria were killed and did not commit suicide. "Purgatory Jack" (2023) is a Canadian adventure that lacks humor and a better screenplay to work. But the noirish style associated to the beautiful cinematography is worthwhile and in the conclusion, the messy screenplay is clarified. My vote is five.
