Critics Consensus

A visually tacky sequel that lumbers along with a plodding pulse and lacking the thematic resonance that distinguished its source material, Return to Silent Hill gets lost in the haze.

Die-hard fans may get a kick out of seeing the monstrosities of Silent Hill on the big screen. But this return trip to gaming’s most terrifying town won’t leave you scared — just bored. Go to Full Review

Without any of the game’s tension-releasing exploration and puzzle-solving breaks, it has a nightmare flow, constantly upending its own logic and the geometry of its spaces. Go to Full Review

A cautionary tale: chilling proof that borrowing legendary video game symbolism without comparable skill remains the surest way to alienate a fanbase, on or off the console. Go to Full Review

Despite its flaws, the 2006 film was rather handsome, but this budget-starved schlock looks like goulash - a rust-coloured slurry of empty frames and weightless monsters. Go to Full Review

Mr Hollywood 9h Horrible. It’s boring and ridiculous. It’s a remake or reboot. Whatever it is it’s just not a good movie See more Jacob 11h If youre a fan of the game that this movie was based off of, maybe skip this one and even if you can look past the butchering of what was already a solid story, and are just a general horror or Silent Hill fan, this movie is still an ugly, poorly written CGI mess. It kind of feels like they told an AI to make a movie based off Silent Hill 2 and this is what it spat out. See more Tyler 1d It was an all right movie not the best not the worst had some cool looking cgi moments but then it seems like they kind of went on their own tangent towards the end See more Eric W 1d Captures some of the hellish imagery but completely misses the point of the story. See more Carter 1d Worst adaptation of another thing ever See more bigg j hill 1d well done video game movie See more Read all reviews
