Scream 4 hits all the right notes of what you’d want in a Scream film. As a millennial this was the first Scream film I saw on the big screen and I’ll never forget that memory. Only Scream 7 has come the closest to the greatness of Scream 4. This was also Wes Craven’s last movie he directed and the film feels like a good high note for his career to end on. Scream 4 has the funniest and scariest moments of the franchise and this will always be in my Top 3 favorite Scream films. I don’t get the low reviews of the film but I feel this film is slowly coming around to the people that didn’t like it when it first came out. Scream 4 was ahead of its time for so many reasons. The film would be more successful if it came out today but I love that this franchise is always one step ahead from most movie franchises. It’s not fair to the fans or the people who worked so hard to make the first three so cool. The action is fine and the acting is fine as well. But unfortunately, we start on a low note. The opening scene for this movie is the worst one so far!! The movie within a movie thing was funny the first time, but when it became a movie within a movie within a movie, I was just annoyed that we hadn't actually seen anyone in the real world get killed by Ghostface yet. So after the opening scene left a sour taste in my mouth, I was already headed into the movie a little disappointed. But I really enjoyed it from there. I thought it did a great job of introducing us to new, teen characters while still keeping the older legacy characters around to help make this feel like a Scream movie. I loved the directions that all the legacy characters went. Sidney becoming an author, Dewey becoming sheriff, Gale wishing she was still a reporter, all of those stories felt right for the characters. I also enjoyed the direction they took Ghostface in this movie. 👍🏻 See more Aaron T @RT60472594 Mar 18 I think this film gets a lot of stick when it’s actually aged well. It did seem before its time when it was first realised. If realised slightly later by a few years, the film would be at a perfect time where the world changed to have the film fit in a lot more to society and be relatable to audiences. A very good and fun opening. Good to see the three main characters again and how they handle Ghostface this time. Can be very comical at times. Use of CGI through the film which is noticeable but probably the best killer twist at the end as well as a good strong killer with strong motive. See more Read all reviews
