A top Marine sniper, Bob Lee Swagger, leaves the military after a mission goes awry and disappears without a trace. Swagger is coaxed back into service after high-profile government officials convince him to help thwart a plot against the President of the United States. We can’t enjoy the film as a thriller because the plot is so impossibly stupid, and we can’t enjoy the action because it’s reduced to Wahlberg in various forms of camouflage plugging his targets without the slightest hitch.

Somehow this movie from 2007 has an all too familiar storyline to real world events in 2025 and 2026. The FBI setting-up patsies to assassinate a sitting president with government support and participation seems unrealistic, until you dive a bit deeper. Yes, the movie has high drama and some unrealistic plot lines and unfortunately the supporting cast is a bit weak, but Mark Wahlberg still holds his own. Also, not sure what was up with the verbal acting of Danny Glover, but the mumbling makes you wish you had headphones on. All-in-all, a good watch on streaming services and if you're not scratching your head about why this movie 19 years ago resonates today - Join the club.

One of my favourite piece of shit movies. It is worth staying to the very bitter end though, to witness our hero rounding off a really shitty performance by plugging the villains Glover and Beatty in their backs.

This movie was terrific. Mark Wahlberg was very good in it and it's got a great storyline. I've seen it twice now and enjoyed it just as much if not more of the second time. It's about an assassination attempt and they hire Wahlberg on as a consultant because he was a sniper for the army. They then try to frame him for an assassination that people in the government set up. I highly recommend this movie.

Great movie over all , love the pace and the theme . I’ve watched it three times and it doesn’t get old . I would have got a higher rating of the end made a little more sense. I do like the ending I just think it could have been done better
