Unable to accept the fact that her daughter is dying, Rose (Radha Mitchell) decides to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, the pair drive through a portal in reality, leading to an eerie town called Silent Hill. Unfortunately, the writing and acting is distractingly bad at times. Honestly, it felt like they spent all the budget on the production design, and then midway realized they never bothered with a script.

I watched it before I new it came from a video game. That piano riff is one of the most chilling pieces to provide disturbing atmosphere in any movie I've seen. I used to cite this movie as my favorite horror movie. I need a rewatch. So many disturbing images to be seen in this movie. The second one isn't as good, but if you're a fan, you should watch it. PYRAMID HEAD!!!!!!!!

I watched this in the theater in 2006. THAT was an experience. The movie still holds up today. Cybil and Rose are just about the two hottest heroines ever. This film is disturbing, not just in it's hellish, gory imagery, but in it's mysteriously slow unveiling of an act committed against a child that is so demonic that the child took on an uber demonic nature that far surpassed her offenders.

First watch, I was impressed with the attempt at keeping the film terrifyingly spooky and keeping you on edge at what could come next. The creature effects are too notch creepy and the imagery of what we're seeing will Haunt some, if lucky. I really enjoyed the game in total Darkness and with the sound coming through my stereo with the bass deep enough to feel their foot steps. I'm always ready for the 100th+ watch.

This movie is incredibly underrated. Like many videogame adaptations there were changes, but they worked and the actors did their jobs well. By far the best part of the movie is the music and the atmosphere. Those 2 things were completely faithful to the Silent Hill Franchise. Sadly there hasn't been one as good as this since.
