See more DanTheMan 2 @DanTheMan2150AD Jan 12 Using the original Silent Night, Deadly Night as its jumping off point, Silent Night quickly exerts itself with lashings of inventive, over the top violence and brutally fun filled mayhem. Steven C. Miller's scrappy little remake is delightfully misanthropic, keeping things straightforward but populating the film with an abundance of postmodern jabs, self-referential scares and some truly exceptional filmmaking. There's a pure and completely unapologetic commitment to outrageous set pieces, from a flamethrower execution to a wood-chipper finale; it is undoubtedly the most polished the series has ever looked that, thankfully, doesn’t wallow in mimicking other people’s muck for too long and thankfully pays its proper dues by laying the appropriate offerings at the meme altar. Propped by a great set of hammy performances, especially from Malcolm McDowell, and cool musical touches, this Silent Night delivers plenty of ho ho horror and a fast, fun and vicious seasonal viewing experience. O visual do assassino chama atenção pela máscara coberta por uma barba falsa, criando uma imagem marcante. No restante, o filme abraça os clichês do slasher, com personagens antipáticos e diálogos exagerados. Donald Logue e Malcolm McDowell se destacam pela excentricidade de seus papéis. Se encuentra más bien en un punto intermedio entre una película mediocre y una película decente. Lo que al menos logró conseguir fue ser una película entretenida que no demanda mucho y un homenaje al reconocimiento que dejó la saga en el cine de serie B. Lo que salva a esta película es sin duda su historia que está bien contada y hace que se deje pasar por alto los errores que tiene. La calidad cinematográfica en la producción y la fotografía hacen que la película sea agradable a la vista. Silent Night podría posicionarse como la segunda película más inferior de la saga debido a sus defectos, pero consigue ser lo suficientemente divertida. Sin la necesidad de demandar mucho o ser perfecta, terminó siendo un agradable regreso a la saga. Mi calificación final para esta película es un 6/10. Honestly, it didn't feel too much of a remake despite as description says that it is since it is maybe due to the references to the first two Silent Night, Deadly Night movies, including that one from Black Christmas. It has some good acting, some good kills while sometimes the police aren't always on track with the killer until Aubrey had figured it out due to one little hint within the third act. It's worth checking out whether you've seen the previous Silent Night, Deadly Night movies or not. I will give Silent Night (oddly not Deadly Night) six killer Santa Claus ready to cook with a flamethrower out of ten. 6/10. Yeah, I forgot to mention that this Santa packs a friggin' flamethrower yet only uses it a couple of times. Oh, well. Gotta reserve that fuel, amirite? See more Read all reviews
