After the death of his wife, Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks) moves to Seattle with his son, Jonah (Ross Malinger). When Jonah calls in to a talk-radio program to find a new wife for his father, Sam grudgingly gets on the line to discuss his feelings. Annie Reed (Meg Ryan), a reporter in Baltimore, hears Sam speak and falls for him, even though she is engaged. Unsure where it will lead, she writes Sam a letter asking him to meet her at the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day.

Sleepless in Seattle is odd because there is no meet cute until the final scene. Somehow, Norah Ephron has created a world where it makes sense that two strangers are separated by 3,000 miles and still manage to fall in love.

Finally watched it because of all the hype. The leading lady had an emotional affair the entire movie, and the love interests got together in the last 5 minutes in a quick wrap up. I couldn’t understand the chemistry since the storytelling didn’t make much sense

This is the first time I’ve seen a story that is this calm and more meaningful in my lifetime. All I can say is that SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE is a wonderful treat for those that need it most.

I felt like this movie didn't do a very good job on the storytelling. The premise was promising but left major plot holes and moved way too quickly. If they had more time as far as feature length goes it would probably would have been much better.
