Although I don’t really like men in monster costumes, this wasn’t bad. They should have did a little better with the Bigfoot’s eyes but, it wasn’t bad, just don’t show closeups. The video quality wasn’t too good but we thought maybe it was suppose to reminisce or it was recorded on an old VCR recorder for the 60’s effect. Kind of like B rating acting but once again, it was more like family. I think for a B movie recorded in 2015, there should have been better quality video recording available, it got to fuzzy edged on the people, almost like a heat signature. Most of the acting was ok but just a little non professional. Some of the actors were convincable. That’s about it besides work on the White Balance better next time. Like I said, I did enjoy the movie because of the simplicity. I watched the entire thing. The only reason I was interested was because it was set in the sixties, and it was Texas, which is where I grew up. The monster costume was clearly a costume, but it was pretty danged well put together, and can I just say the child actors were very believable... actually, all the acting was pretty on par. They did a really good job setting the scene as far as the time period except for one minor detail, the pickup truck was not a 66 or earlier model and it had an April 2012 inspection/registration sticker on the windshield, which I think they could have tried to cover up. Apparently somebody drives that truck every day :) however, having said all that, I really enjoyed it. I recommend it. See more skthompson57 T @RT89659996 05/07/2024 I really enjoyed this movie. Good casting and the story line keeps moving. Awesome. See more 11/10/2021 I loved this movie. I was on a low-budget big foot kick and came across and watched Something in the Woods. Yeah it's low budget, but I like that. It's authentic and it has refreshingly normal characters. It's not slick or polished; there isn't a lot of gun-play; there's no sex and no foul language. There is a functional family; a dramatization of a real case; believable characters played by pretty good actors (some better than others); and behavior that is worth emulating. I like that it is not Hollywood and that I don't recognize the actors from ten other films. I guess I've watched it six times - it's a film I can go to now and then when I don't feel like searching for something new. Good flick to watch with kids - a little suspenseful and the behavior of the characters is real. Lot's of opportunities to say what would you do in that situation? See more Read all reviews
