A young woman with no strong religious beliefs, Frankie Paige (Patricia Arquette) begins having strange and violent experiences, showing signs of the wounds that Jesus received when crucified. When the Vatican gets word of Frankie's situation, a high-ranking cardinal (Jonathan Pryce) requests that the Rev. Andrew Kiernan (Gabriel Byrne) investigate her case. Soon Kiernan realizes that very sinister forces are at work, and tries to rescue Frankie from the entity that is plaguing her.

A more bone-chilling experience is trying to solve the mystery of whether Arquette, Gabriel Byrne, as the Vatican priest trying to save her, and Nia Long, as the best friend on stand-by, needed to be in a hit this badly.

Una película que te engancha. Me encanta "la fotografía" que tiene, es muy Buffy Cazavampiros, muy de los 2000. Le da una vuelta interesante al tema de la Iglesia y de la fe. Además, me encanta la simbología que hay durante toda la película (el agua y las flores, por ejemplo). Me parece una película que ha envejecido muy bien.

I love this movie. I can't get enough watching it. I understand why most don't like it. People don't like very realistic movies. The message of the movie is very disturbing in my opinion. It says that every religion is born from a whore.
