Stephen G @patient1 Jan 2 Our intro is an actual introduction to our primary character and her daily routine. We're suddenly given a beautiful and ominous gift and images that are hard to describe.  Some disgusting behavior from an unworthy individual and some truly beautiful spooky shenanigans.    Things are happening that are quite unexplainable, but her gift seems to be at the center of all the weirdness and still delicious moments of the film.  If you could, would you, should you, or do you dare wish the good and even the bad. This cursed-object tale doesn't provide the philosophically or emotionally deep atmosphere I enjoy in such films but a solid performance by Derouand and an engaging premise held my interest. I loved the moral consequences explored and having to choose between what we want and what we will accept. See more Claudio C @Claudio666 Dec 13 Could Have Been Excellent if Had an Ending (12,125 – 12 Dec 2025) The former dancer Eva is paraplegic since the car driven by her best friend Sophie had an accident. On her birthday, Sophie arrives from Germany where she lives now and gives an ancient wooden Advent calendar from Munich to Eva. She finds three rules and learns that she must open one window per day at 0 hours and eat the candy inside until Christmas. Soon Eva realizes that most of the windows are bad, causing death to the ones she loves, but she may walk again. "Le calendrier", a.k.a. "The Advent Calendar" (2021) could have been an excellent horror movie if had an ending. The conclusion disappoints the viewer that does not know Eva’s choice. An Advent calendar is originally from Germany and is a special countdown calendar beginning on Dec 1st, often featuring small doors or pockets to open daily for a treat, toy or message, making the wait fun. My vote is seven.
