Thirty years after war turned the world into a wasteland, a lone warrior named Eli marches across the ruined landscape, carrying hope for humanity's redemption. Critics Consensus

It's certainly uneven, and many viewers will find that its reach exceeds its grasp, but The Book of Eli finds the Hughes brothers injecting some fresh stylish fun into the kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland filmgoers have seen more than enough of lately.

Excellent movie, excellent acting, good plot twist and heartfelt overall. Can clearly see the secular elitists showing their bias in the so-called critics rating. As usual the audience score speaks for itself. Critics becoming extremely dull in their predictability when it comes to anything remotely faith inclined.

A powerful and highly underrated masterpiece. Have seen this movie a dozen times and each time it gets better and better. The actoral triangle, Oldman, Washington and Kunis is just superbly solid in developing this incredible salvation journey.

While some parts of the movie dragged on a bit and were a bit fake-looking with the background and color, I liked what they did with some of the plot and I’m glad that it wasn’t Denzel Washington just going through the movie and the new desolate world on his own. He acts much better when other people and dialogue are involved as opposed to him being just by himself. I liked Mila Kunis in the movie too and their connection with each other. Plus, Gary Oldman always portrays great characters/villains with a uniqueness to them.

With the title “The Book of Eli” you know going in had religious overtones. Eli often offers others a way to not be harmed which they just ignore out of indifference or lack of understanding. He just walker (traveler). In the end he regrets many of his misdeeds asking for forgiveness.
