My own experience of the film was very positive and I see 6.5 stars on IMDb and 4.2 stars on Amazon. Those are a fairer reflection of a well formed narrative. I read somewhere that the budget for this movie was less than 50k and yet it stands up well with multi million pound contemporary projects such as 1917 and later Terence Davies's work on Sassoon, Benediction. It's all in the storytelling. Definitely worth seeing this worthy debut from director, Richard Weston. It is unlikely that a major will do a film on Owen, so we should treasure the efforts of this indy company focusing on such complex character as Wilfred Owen and the 1917 that he experienced. I for one, appreciate the work. See more 01/03/2022 Music is far too loud, leaving you to choose between ear piercing headache or not hearing the words of one of the greatest poets.
