The Grand Seduction is not really a romcom. It's sweet farce in the Waking Ned Devine genre, the tale of a village making an idiot out of a city slicker-a narrative heist, so to speak.

As a doctor myself, I wanted to see what happens when the doctor they are recruiting finally arrives, but at 30 minutes I had watched enough cricket to last me a lifetime. The rest of the movie is not offensive, but not stimulating enough to keep watching.

It’s a sweet film. It is really one of my favorite movies to just watch and relax and feel good. It’s also my daughter’s favorite all time movie. It’s just a simple story of a small harbor. It’s funny it’s sweet and it is really just enjoyable.

This is really a very bad remake of local hero 1983. Grand seduction just doesn't have the same character or dryness or timing that local hero does. Watch the original. It is so much better. So much better.
