Like the filmmaker’s last work, ‘Oppenheimer,’ ‘The Odyssey’ has a downbeat, apocalyptic bent—but, unlike ‘Oppenheimer,’ or any previous Nolan film, the new film is also centrally about what human beings owe one another.

Nolan's exploration of THE ODYSSEY is much more interested in questioning the concept of glory than it is displaying it. While that may feel counter to the epic, I feel it's a worthy mission in the modern age of repeated horrors.

I like the broad views of the screen. The story is well told. The leading male and female actors did a great job. The sound in general is too loud. The picture of final fighting moves too fast so feels a little overwhelming.
