Screenwriter Justin Lader's feature film debut is nothing short of stunning and hopefully signals a prolific career ahead. Meanwhile, director Charlie McDowell's first feature effort similarly allows for such a unique exploration of the trials of romance.

The film owes everything to its actors and particularly to Moss, who is capable of constantly surprising reactions, like the flurry of little nods Sophie gives to express delight.

While I can't divulge much else for the sake of keeping the plot a surprise, I will say that the house has something unexpected in store for the young couple, raising questions for them and us about what it is that defines the one we love.

Very high marks for original concept, acting, and leaving violence out of the film. One star off for lack of plot explanation, but, I do understand it was easier to just go with it.

I'm really not sure how so many people liked this movie. The pace is painfully slow, the dialogue is delivered in the most contrived wooden way possible, and I couldn't bring myself to watch past halfway. Unless the second half of the movie is the best thing ever, it just doesn't make sense to me. On top of the fact that the main characters are massively under reacting to their circumstances, they're just really annoying and extremely difficult to listen to for an extended period of time. I felt like I was watching a high school play, that's how flat and unconvincing it was.

A pretentious piece of BS, very well received by the professionals. And one more thing: I don’t watch movies to see naked women, but we are in the 21st century and showing adults having sex with the woman wearing a bra it’s beyond ridiculous. The code was much more sincere.
