In this animated Disney tale, Aladdin (Scott Weinger), Princess Jasmine (Linda Larkin) and the gang are not as free of the menacing sorcerer Jafar (Jonathan Freeman) as they think. Since their last encounter with him, Jafar has been imprisoned in a magic lamp, but an inept thief, Abis Mal (Jason Alexander), is about to change that. Luckily for Aladdin and friends, Jafar's parrot, Iago (Gilbert Gottfried), has switched to their side -- which is good, because they need all the help they can get.

No Robin Williams hurts bad; Dan Castellaneta does his best, but all I hear is Homer Simpson trying to grant wishes. At least the rest of the original cast shows up. Sadly, the animation quality drops faster than Jafar’s temper, the songs don’t stick, and the story just replays the first movie without adding anything new. It’s watchable if you loved the original, but the magic lamp definitely lost some shine. 2.5/5. See more Read all reviews
