It conveys its point very convincingly through the use of personal testimony and, most interestingly to me, the abundance of clips from other films that show how women are portrayed. Many of these clips feature films I love today, which I had never even considered in terms of their sexist implications. Even as a feminist myself, the film was able to enlighten me more on my own internal biases and make me look at the media I view through a deeper lens. The documentary thoroughly looked into the injustices women in film have had to face in the past as well as what women still deal with today in the film industry. I enjoyed the interesting stories many of these prominent female film figures told and how they plan to try to fix some of the injustices women face. I appreciated how the film combined personal testimonies from actresses, directors, and executives with hard data that proves how underrepresentation harms women across the entire industry. The documentary made me rethink how many films I once consumed without questioning who was allowed to create them. It’s an important watch for anyone who wants to understand why representation matters and how systemic barriers continue to limit women in the entertainment industry. It highlights the importance and lasting effect media can have on us and how bad it is that women's voices aren't in the film industry like they should be.
