Super interesting movie, really enjoyed the way it moved back and forth between time periods. I don't want to give too much away, but I really enjoyed it and would recommend for sure. The flashbacks to a young Ted Kaczynski fail to fit the actual timeline of the 17-year FBI manhunt, and the film leans too hard into the narrative that the Harvard psychological experiments "created" the Unabomber. Shailene Woodley feels completely miscast and out of character as an FBI agent. Russell Crowe is reliably good at playing arrogant, but even his solid performance can't save this movie. I truly wonder why this faulty, late-to-the-game version was released after all these years when there are already much better options available on the subject. In fact, if one wants a much better film exploring extreme psychological experiments, watch The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015). It masterfully re-enacts the 1971 study where 24 male students were randomly assigned roles as prisoners or guards in a mock basement prison. See more Lenina H @leninahuxley 6 hrs ago I really liked this film! I learned a lot about the Unabomber that I didn't know, and all the actors did a great job. Jacob Tremblay was incredible. The parallel structure is really well constructed: we see how the Unabomber got caught, but also how he became who he was.
