From its non-committal title downwards -- we're a bit worse than ankle deep, but not quite neck deep -- the film includes a final shot that is almost surreal in its implausibility. Waist Deep? More like Deep Waste.

The worldwide gross is $21,353,303.00. A success on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc and has a kicking Rhythm & Blues soundtrack. I love the lead actor and lead actress. Adding romance to the drama and crime.

I'm glad I only pay attention to Audience scores on "Rotten Tomatoes" before watching this movie. "Waist Deep" easily leans more toward a mid-70s score than a 28% average given by the critics. I guarantee you that if the ending had been "the opposite" for the main characters, the critics would have given it 80%.
