With the wedding of her younger sister (Amy Adams) fast approaching, Kat Ellis (Debra Messing) faces the undesirable prospect of traveling alone to London for the ceremony. While this is bad enough, Jeffrey (Jeremy Sheffield), the man who left her as they moved closer to marriage, happens to be the groom's best man. Determined to show everyone -- most of all Jeffrey -- that her romantic life is as full and thrilling as ever, Kat hires a charming male escort (Dermot Mulroney) as her date.

The only positive thing that can be said for The Wedding Date is that for some completely inexplicable reason it is set in England and so includes some lovely pastoral scenery and some interesting looking hats.

the worst movie i have ever seen. main character had no depth whatsoever. everything in this movie is based on physical qualities, as if what you can offer is more important than who you are. no depth or morals are taught, its not even "a jolly good time". as someone who loves romcoms, i was not charmed. very disappointed.

I had hopes for the main couple but the resolution around the sister and ex is so far fetched, and so terrible to all involved it leaves you with a terrible taste in the mouth. That was a crucial plot point. It dropped the movie quality from 3 stars to a 1 star.

Too predictable. I however, am simply not a fan of the “fake relationship” trope. With this film in particular, the chemistry felt rushed.

A movie to make you feel good when you're down. Ignore the critics calling it shop-worn cliche. Messing and Mulroney in lead roles were very likeable and Amy Adams was great in her role as well. Most important is it was fun for a romantic comedy and I cared about the characters.

Some people think this movie was too trite, but I find it a perfectly pleasing little rom-com that doesn't offend anyone and is great for a rainy afternoon or when you're feeling down.
