Cork B @RT87142816 4 days ago This is not a great movie by any stretch, but it is a cut above the standard romance flick out there. They took a melodramatic weepie story and shot it against some decent background scenery. It is super cheesy, and it randomly seems to pick mores from the 19th and 21st century at the same time, but it more or less makes sense and you kinda cheer for the will they wont they story line, even though this is about as predictable as they come. I am happy to say 'Where the Wind Blows' doesn't fall within those parameters. Stars Trevor Donovan (as Chase) and Ashley Elaine (as Jessie) elevate the quality of this western about life, loss, survival and finding family. There are a few surprises that make the story of survival for women in the old West quite stark. But the heroine Jessie is no helpless stereotype; she's tough but vulnerable. She is a woman who knows what she wants and needs. As Chase, Trevor Donovan brings humor and pathos to his role as he contemplates leaving a life of freedom to help Jessie in a life changing decision. Special mention must be given to Rob Mayes, who is absolutely terrifying as Lonnie, an amoral man obsessed with Jennie and most likely (the plot subtly suggests this) a child molester. Those three performances and the supporting cast make this movie well worth your time.
