While it's under-realized (I would've done a number of scenes differently - but nobody asked me), I feel like it's misunderstood. This is really more of a cinematic poem than conventionl narrative prose. Once you understand the film-maker's intent, you begin to appreciate some of the creative choices taken. One critic, for instance, complained about the repetitive flashbacks. For a conventional narrative film, that would indeed be very clunky. But once you realize that the film should be viewed as poetry rather than prose, then those repetive flashbacks become a sort of poetic refrain, and the beauty of the film begins to shine through. See more Manuela P @RT91725283 Sep 20, 2026 I really enjoyed Without Blood. It’s a beautifully made, emotional film that explores revenge, trauma, and forgiveness in a very thoughtful way. Salma Hayek gave an excellent performance and brought a lot of depth and emotion to her character. I especially liked the slow, intimate storytelling and the way the film makes you think about the consequences of violence and whether forgiveness is possible. Definitely worth watching.
