During a party given by a district attorney (Edward Martindel), a valuable diamond goes missing. The attorney turns the lights off, so the thief can return the jewel anonymously, but when they come back on, he's been stabbed to death. The guests soon discover the man's ward (Dorothy Sebastian) in a large clock, clutching the stolen stone. Insisting that she has no idea who pushed her into hiding, the girl remains a suspect -- until the lights go out again.

Timothy T @tntompkins27 3 days ago Viewing this a hundred years after it first premiered. But yeah, sorry I couldn’t make it to the premiere when it came out. This was a mildly amusing watch though. The coroner was kind of a creep by trying to flirt with one of the women suspects every chance he got, which I guess was intended to be funny but it fell flat to me every single time. Silent films are always interesting to watch since I don’t really watch them often, this one in particular didn’t overact as much as most films of this era did. So while I guess it was tolerable enough to sit through I still wouldn’t really say this film was that great. It clearly wasn’t supposed to be anything meaningful of course so I wasn’t expecting much from this, but it certainly tried to be a lot more clever than it actually ended up being.
