Marc by Sofia (2025) 72% EDIT “The film loses any critical distance, but makes up for it in warmth.” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review Ghost Elephants (2025) 100% EDIT “Herzog’s distinctive voice and narration can liven up even the most boring of nature documentaries.” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review 1000 Women in Horror (2025) 100% EDIT “It’s an expansive history of women in the horror film genre, both in front of and behind the camera, as well as examinations of tropes and tendencies.” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review Fukushima: A Nuclear Nightmare (2026) EDIT “The doc includes lots of amazing on-the-ground footage from the earthquake, tsunami and subsequent nuclear accident, while juxtaposing that with old cartoons of government propaganda” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review The Plastic Detox (2026) EDIT “a completely unscientific study that confuses correlation and causation. It also doesn’t help that the subjects are kind of unbearable. ” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review It's Dorothy! (2025) EDIT “ I found this rather unfocused, without any real overarching statement.” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review Bella! (2023) 100% EDIT “It’s all pretty straightforward in telling the story of Abzug’s rise, her career, and her many political defeats and comebacks, leading up to her death in 1998.” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review Keep Quiet and Forgive (2025) EDIT “A Harrowing look at sexual abuse in the Amish and Mennonite cultures, in which abuse is swept under the rug and men in the community, seemingly every time, tell the victims that it’s their fault for not being submissive enough” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review The Voice That Rocked America: The Dick Biondi Story (2026) EDIT “It’s a bit of a low-budget affair, and I admit that I had never heard of Bidondi before I sat down to watch it. But by the end, I was invested.” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review Disneyland Handcrafted (2026) 100% EDIT “I could clearly see the appeal and passion that went into this.” – The SS Ben Hecht Apr 6, 2026 Full Review Pizza Movie (2026) 76% EDIT “One of the more contrived gimmicks I’ve ever heard in a comedy, leading this to become the answer to the question, 'what if Superbad had sucked?'” – Splice Today Apr 6, 2026 Full Review The Drama (2026) 75% EDIT “I admired its audacity, as it’s a movie about relationships and marriage that’s dramatically different from every other one I’ve ever seen” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 31, 2026 Full Review Forbidden Fruits (2026) 72% EDIT “The best movie in years that’s set in a mall” – Splice Today Mar 31, 2026 Full Review The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel (2026) 100% EDIT “This doesn’t feel like most music documentaries, as it’s not overly sanitized, nor does it seem like Part 1 of a multipart Chili Peppers career retrospective. ” – Living Life Fearless Mar 31, 2026 Full Review Pretty Lethal (2026) 57% EDIT “There’s impressive action from time to time, but I would have preferred a movie just about the dysfunctional ballet company. ” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 27, 2026 Full Review Micro Budget (2024) 83% EDIT “The people who made this are much better at convincing well-known people to make cameos than at any other aspect of filmmaking. ” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 27, 2026 Full Review Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (2026) 78% EDIT “Occasionally funny, although the novelty of criminals acting this silly wore off about 30 years ago.” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 27, 2026 Full Review Kontinental '25 (2025) 93% EDIT “A lot less experimental and more conventional than his recent films, and quite a bit talkier, but like most of Jude’s work, it certainly has something to say.” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 27, 2026 Full Review You're Dating a Narcissist! (2025) 50% EDIT “I found it charming, and particularly on the button when it comes to noting a certain modern tendency.” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 27, 2026 Full Review Monument (2026) EDIT “A well-produced and well-put-together treatment of the story, but it also leaves out a lot. ” – Splice Today Mar 27, 2026 Full Review Meal Ticket (2026) EDIT “There’s a lot of "let’s remember some guys" potential here.” – Living Life Fearless Mar 27, 2026 Full Review Louis Theroux: Inside The Manosphere (2026) 78% EDIT “The ideal antidote for the rise of redpill content, it turns out, is a mild-mannered, middle-aged British documentarian” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 20, 2026 Full Review Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026) 74% EDIT “Goes much bigger than the original, but not necessarily better.” – The SS Ben Hecht Mar 20, 2026 Full Review The Optimist: The Bravest Act Is Truth (2023) 95% EDIT “There's a lot of great stuff here, but balancing the two stories is a choice that doesn't quite work. ” – Splice Today Mar 20, 2026 Full Review undertone (2025) 73% EDIT “Like Roger Ebert said about hot-air balloons, good movies rarely feature a podcast.” – Splice Today Mar 13, 2026 Full Review
