Her developing psychic powers were responsible for ending his life, leaving Tina riddled with guilt as an adult. Critics Consensus

As lumbering and bereft of conscious thought as its unstoppable star, Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood finds the franchise in desperate need of the title ingredient.

The filmmakers have mastered the blood but not the tedium of all of the predictable killings. Nor have they eliminated the '"hate-women" subtext to the entire series of films. Go to Full Review

The anxieties suffered by Tina throughout the film are well thought-out by the franchise's typically one-dimensional standards. Go to Full Review

The more ways this franchise tries to make things "fresh," the more we're reminded of how little was there in the first place. Go to Full Review

It's inspirationally bad. However, it holds a special place because it was the last one bad at an actual camp. Go to Full Review

Others may be disappointed at another missed opportunity to revive a franchise that really feels like it's drowning at this point. Go to Full Review

The seventh installment is better than expected, because it reserves the final duel between protagonists...something akin to Carrie vs. Jason. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

zaika - @Zaika 3d Unfortunately, the MPAA was the real Jason Voorhees in this case. The MPAA cut dozens of moments from this film even with the cuts, it is far from a good movie. The fire stunt at the end is what gave this film the ranking. The film sucks in all ways than one, unlikable characters, bland story and genuinely sluggish pacing. I did not enjoy this film and yes, I am a firm hater of the Carrie-esque theme of this film. See more Roman W @RT29068987 3d I love this movie I know it’s cut to shit but be real it’s not the movies fault it’s the censorship crew. My one complaint is the fact that the ending makes no sense but you will have to see it for yourself to understand why I say this. But other than that I recommend See more mark G @Mark_Alan_G. Mar 21 Really bored so I've been binging the series, up to 7. As the series developed the acting and production did improve. Sadly, what showed zero improvement was the writing and direction. There is no craft here, no skill, nothing remotely clever. This is a tedious slasher film, paint by the uninspired numbers. It's almost as if Jason is bored as well, simply killing for no reason and in uncreative ways. Sadly, even though this film is terrible, no character or plot development, it's one of the best ones in this crap series. Heck, there isn't one jump in the whole movie. See more Oliver C. @ocook005 Nov 27 Friday the 13th Part 7” earns 2.5 stars for serving up a few fun telekinetic twists but mostly drowning in the same thin characters and recycled slasher beats. See more GotRizz237 @RT94619608 Nov 23 Friday the 13th, Part VII: The New Blood was a great movie and had a great story. I really enjoyed Friday the 13th, Part VII! Great movie! See more Anthony H. @Hardy Nov 14 Friday the 13th the New Blood starts off with a story that could be great but then just gets lost in itself. It had its good moments but this is just one of those goofy ones that kept me semi interested but lost me most of the time. Tina’s story was interesting but all the other people in this movie were just boring. I think this could have been better had they done stuck with it just following Tina. See more Read all reviews
