Why the murder of a beautiful starlet would be the "hook" for the coverage is not a mystery. But Cutting to the Truth makes a case that, in terms of Hollywood influence and potential, Sebring was the "name" victim in the massacre.

As with every "documentary" where the filmmaker is a family member of the subject, this starts promising and devolves into a narcissistic exercise of self promotion. The subject of the film was supposed to be Jay Sebring, not his nephew and his boring poses for the camera. Someone should do a real documentary about him.
