An American adaptation of the Israeli show of the same name, "Euphoria" follows the troubled life of 17-year-old Rue, a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean. Circling in Rue's orbit are Jules, a transgender girl searching for where she belongs; Nate, a jock whose anger issues mask sexual insecurities; Chris, a football star who finds the adjustment from high school to college harder than expected; Cassie, whose sexual history continues to dog her; and Kat, a body-conscious teen exploring her sexuality. As the classmates struggle to make sense of their futures, the series tackles the teenage landscape of substance-enhanced parties and anxiety-ridden day-to-day life with empathy and candor.

Critics Consensus

Euphoria returns with less than the sum of its parts in a disjointed cavalcade of forced narratives that leave its talented cast stranded in the wind.

Over and over, Levinson squanders opportunities for humanization or interiority in favor of provocation. Go to Full Review

Once a clear expression of teenage angst, “Euphoria” ended a jumbled mishmash that did a lot and said little. Go to Full Review

Levinson has brought this cast, at the height of their fame, back for what feels more like a humiliation ritual than a victory lap. These actors have graduated from Euphoria High, and the thing with school reunions is that no one wants to go to them. Go to Full Review

Season 3 of Euphoria is far from perfect, but I do respect Levinson’s decision to 'live' through his art and distill so much of himself into the spaces of the show. He doesn’t have all the answers – naturally – but there is a desire to find out. Go to Full Review

While this final season is rather disappointing, it must be acknowledged that it steadily improved, culminating in a rather sordid yet powerful ending. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Gracie W @Gggggggg409 6h Worst season of any tv show ive ever seen. Its like they wrote it in a day. There were so many questions left unanswered. We got a 20 minute scene as cassie as godzilla for some reason, and maybe 7 minutes for the main characters death. They spent way to much time on the less important things like OF and jules painting the worst paintings ever. Genuinely the worst watch if my life. I could have wrote this season better😂 See more Rokaia M @RT32536299 8h I enjoyed Euphoria for most of its run, but the way it handled Ali in the final season ruined the ending for me. For years, he was portrayed as a man guided by faith, recovery, and compassion. Watching him abandon those values felt completely out of character and disrespectful. Ali was one of the few meaningful Muslim characters on the show, and seeing his development undone for shock value was disappointing. A tragic ending is one thing, but ignoring everything that made a character who he was is another. The series was good until that point, but Ali's ending left a bitter impression. See more Wilson P @RT45656662 9h I'm giving it 2 stars at most because they killed off the overrated Zendaya at the end; other than that... the season was pretty lackluster compared to previous seasons. See more VITALII H @freakynickison 9h It seems like a lot of ppl walked away from this show, but the most memorable one who decided to be left outside the third season is of course Labrinth. His presence was so heavily missed. The writers and some other ppl that worked on the previous seasons also were not involved with this season because wtf… This season doesn’t have many memorable moments, the script is lacking and there’s not enough depth in the dialogues and it really lacks excitement. My favorite character is Maddy for sure, her lines were delivered so naturally and Alexa was made for this role. The cast overall was amazing. This season is a lackluster in comparison to the previous seasons, just saying it. It doesn’t mean that it’s bad but when it comes to the bar that was raised over other shows and expectations it was good, not great. I didn’t like the way it ended, I was disappointed. Was this season worth the wait? Sure as hell did imo, but it was the weakest one. Very sad that it was the final season. See more Esteban C @RT03454761 10h not the best season of the show, an open finale that might have worked better if it had tied the ends better and a lot of changes from previous seasons, but the story of rue had to end and, although not perfect, i feel like this was a decent enough goodbye! au revoir ruby, i’ll miss you forevermore. the acting was peak, the cinematography needs to be studied in classrooms and the whole western theme made it look fresh (in my opinion) while showing us new versions of the characters we all knew and loved/hated. they’re not highschoolers anymore and adulthood can be pretty complicated and messed up, in this case to the fucking limit. from it’sjustmecassie, to boss bitch maddie, free soul jules, determined lexi, messed up nate and believer rue, to new faces likes the deadly ass alamo, spanish hood rat magick, beloved kitty, i’mnotgoingtoprison laurie and mysterious bishop, this was really something!!! long live euphoria, the world, the cinema, the magic and the stars it created!!! See more Lauren L @RT90771076 11h This season was very different than previous seasons and felt disjointed at times. However, excellent new characters are introduced and the ending brought me to tears. Visually arresting and the final episode opens with a Tarantino-esque feel to it. Acting is excellent and Sydney Sweeney nails it. I loved seeing more Maddy screen time also. Pretty obvious religious undertones but ultimately good beats out bad (God always gets the Devil even though there may be some casualties). See more Read all reviews
